A Gastronomic Tour? Yes!

Was in KL for the past few days to join in the Mega Sales celebration. But before i go further about the shopping spree i was on, let me get on to the food that i think is a must for me everytime if im visiting KL again. To be on a diet? Or to be close with food? I think i choose to stick with food. =)

First and foremost is Old Chang Kee's. What is it about this old dude or whatever?

Its special... coz of its curry puffs! Im not kidding. My brother said that this was the best curry puff he has ever eaten in his 19 years so far. As for me, it is indeed the best curry puff ive eaten in my 17 years of living in Kuching. Yes, it deserves my high praises.

Cost RM1.80 a piece, this curry puff is a definite must. Its generous with the fillings which consisted of potatoes which has those significant spices which tingles your tastebuds, egg and err... i dont know what else is inside coz i just gobbled them up. So yummy!!! The stall is located outside Bukit Bintang Plaza if you're wondering where it is. But to the KL residents, i bet you know where it is. ^^

Then, you must indulge yourself in strawberries!!! I know it isnt special or something, but c'mon, a lil Kuchingnite like me cant resist the temptations of these gorgeous looking fruits when they are so cheap over in KL. Imagine, RM9.90 a box and the amount is more than double of what you get for RM8.99 in Kuching. How sad uh?

Look how red they are!!! Yummy. By the way, the choc coated stawberries in KLCC is getting more and more expensive. Last year when i was in KL, it only costed like RM3 a stick. Now, RM5 A STICK!!! Oh geez, no wonder im stone cold broke. But its worth the money spend though. Banana coated with choc and nuts is a must too. Too bad no pics. *sigh*

Now i know why Timothy Tiah loves Lecka-Lecka. They taste extremely good. RM5.90 a scoop. Hmm... the strawberry flavor is heavenly whereas the Lecka-Lecka specialty? I got to say it sucks...taste weird. Well, never try never know.

Then, its a must to drop by at Secret Recipe. Well, since ive never tried the Banana Chocolate Cake from Secret Recipe which all my friends said it was the best, i was highly disappointed by it. Still... their other cakes taste a whole lot better than this. =X

The new double chocolate ice-cream from Magnolia. It tastes a lot like Haagen Daaz... and a hell lot cheaper!!! Try them if they reach the stores near you.

My first can of Dr. Peppers after ive heard so many praises from my American friends. Turns out to be great after all. Its worth it. Too bad none available in Kuching. How sad. =(

Sushi. I definitely love the soft shell crab maki. Yummmmm... At Isetan, you can get 50% off the original price after 8 pm. So when you're near, do drop by and wait for the time to slowly pass you by, then rush in to grab those yummylicious sushi!!!

Mix sashimi. A must also. Look at all the fresh, raw fish... and octopus. =D Looks good, taste excellent too. With wasabi and soya sauce, this can send you to heaven.

The chunk is big too!!! The raw salmon aka sashimi taste so good... so sweet... so tender... AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *mouth waters*

Last but not least, Burger King!!! King of the Burgers. Yea yea... can i be a Queen of the Burgers instead? I love you, you know that? You taste so good, i wanna bite you. *bite bite* =) Oh yea, free drink refills at all Burger King outlets. Go go!!!

There are other food that i feel is really good but too bad i dont have the pictures coz i forgot totally about blogging and also i might not dare to snap pictures in public... yet. They are :

Auntie Annie's or Auntie Anne's Pretzels. (Correct me if im wrong, okies?) The almond caramel flavor taste so good... i want MOREEEE!!! =( Saw an outlet in KLCC and SOGO. Cost RM4 for one though, but you must get it coz you wont find any in Kuching. Why is Kuching so 'useless'? *sigh*

Some Coffee Shop at Jalan Ah Lo... shit how you spell it? Ah Lor? Ah Loy? Hmm... forgot. There was a coffee shop there that sells excellent Wanton Noodles and also the best Char Kway Teow ive ever had. =D

Then there is a Bak Kut Teh shop somewhere near Federal Hotel. The Bak Kut Teh there is really good. Dunno why... its rather expensive. RM15 per head. =X

Then... NASI KANDAR!!! At Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Sold by Mamaks, these Nasi Kandar is damn good. Dont sit there and eat. Tapau back home or to the hotel. Let the gravy seep into the rice and ta-dah... it is so good... you just cant get enough of it. =O

Uncle Meng's food court somewhere somewhere... i dont know where. =.= I just ended up there coz we were too hungry and Mr. Robert, our driver got us lost. Well, talk about him later. The char siew rice at Uncle Meng's is so tender and juicy. Even juicier than Fang Yuen's you know!!!

Then the Pork Ramen Noodles at LOT 10 Food Court. Cant find it elsewhere. I love pork, PORK!!! Hehe... even the Kimchi Fried Rice is to die for. Never taste anything like that. =)

Last but not least, fried cockles with sambal at LOT 10 Food Court. The cockles... well they just taste so good. The sambal used was extraordinary special too. I can see dried prawns in there and bla bla... when trying to cook the same fare back in Kuching, couldnt get the exact taste. Thats why, they need to exist only in KL so that i need to go back there for more. Smart people.

So there you have it, nice food in KL. For me la. If you have some which you would like to share, let me know so i can explore there the next time. ^^

In Berberboo's mind : I love to eat!!!
