We never think of proper names, do we?

Proper names? What does that mean? Okay... let me explain. Names are what you call someone, or something that belongs to us. Say we call our kid Barbara, our dog Snuffles, our car lanjiao, our teddy bear Patch and so on so forth. But whats the big issue of me blabbing about names today? Yes yes, i know i blab sometimes but lets move our eyes to our national cars instead of looking at me straight in the eyes right now, kay? Im feeling so not well, damn tired after a workout in the gym.

To clarify something, It’s not that I have to the urge to look down upon Malaysians, coz obviously I am indeed 100% Malaysian, bred and fed in this land. The one thing that I’ve been noticing throughout the years of my life ever since I’m fit to observe the surroundings is… our national cars. Have you ever noticed the names of our cars?

So oh wells, lets start with none other than our proudest brand name, PROTON. So, when Proton was first introduced, it was and still is one of Malaysia's proudest achievement ( in the Ministers' point of view la ). We are superior coz we managed to create a brand of cars on our own. Li hai eh? Proud my foot arr... other country has been producing cars long enough before us... but for a third world country to achieve such goal, and for me being a proud *ahem ahem* Malaysian, lets say im proud of them too okay? But tell you what, me being proud of them doesnt make me drive or buy their cars ok? I prefer other cars, dont mind me. Sorry.

Lets start with the first car Proton came up with. Proton Saga. Saga is a type of red seed from the saga tree. Of course we Malaysians have heard of Pokok Saga right? OMG, if you dont, let me go and ketuk your patriotic head! But stupid thing is, why do we have to name our car that? What is the significance of this seed? Its not our national plant or something. Why dont they call it Proton Hibiscus instead?

This are the saga seeds that i mentioned earlier.

Okay, lets leave Saga alone now, it hates being bullied by evil Berber. Lets move on to Proton Satria now. Satria, when translated to English means knight. Whoa... for a car to be honored as a knight, you may think highly of the car eh? But lets see, its underpowered ( unless you drive the GT version ), small, tiny weeny, 2 doors which is a bugger... and bla bla. Dont believe me do you?

NAHHHH... see how small it is. Does it look like a knightly character to you? Hmmm... nope for me.

And then we have Proton Iswara. Heck i do not know what Iswara means. But when i look up in the net, here's what ive found.

Iswara – Sanskrit name for the Lord in His aspect of Cosmic Ruler; from the root ‘is’, to rule. Iswara is He by whose Will rules all universes, in orderly cycles, which are created and dissolved. I Am That I Am – English Language name for the Lord.

Whoa... so holy arr? As holy as the car goes, im not sure its even near to a holy car. Well, it certainly cant be used as a hearse thats for sure. The rest, well ive never driven one... so maybe... i shuddup on this car. Coz its 'holy'. =.= If not i will end up in hell. Buh.

HOLYYYYYYY MOLLYYYYY!!! Thats an Iswara. A God. Ptuiii.

And next comes my favorite Proton car of all time, Proton Wira. I dont know why i adore this car above the rest of its sisters and brothers. It looks acceptable, handling is acceptable... well, just a thumbs up i can say even though the soft aluminium 'shell' sucks so bad. Well, Wira means hero in Bahasa Malaysia. So, driving a hero around? I will be superman!!! But i will end up in the hospital if i do 120 on that car.

Wira, a notch above the rest. Widely used in modifying so that ah bengs can be more ah bengier. =X

Next up is Proton Perdana. This is the most expensive product in the line. Cost 120k a piece if im not mistaken. Idiot you know? You might as well buy a Camry which is much much 1000 times better than Perdana. But for the top notch, most expensive, most spacious, fastest, and biggest cc car, Perdana has definitely live up to the name its been given for. Perdana = Prime. So its suppose to be a prime car. So do expect premier qualities from this car.

Premier isnt it? Just like the Premier tissue paper we get, soft soft, easy to use, sekali guna, boleh buang.

Last but not least from the cars that 'annoys' me a little bit is... Proton Waja. Tell you what. Waja means steel. As in it supposedly supposed to be hard skin right? RIGHT??? Well, drove a Waja once, knocked into something small, dented starightaway. And thats just a flower pot okay? =.= Lousy ass.

This car is a rip-off. So alang-alang one. Badan besar, power tak cukup. Cis. And it doesnt come cheap either. =S

Well, the other models like Gen 2, Savvy and Chancellor doesnt get any clicks in my mind... coz maybe Gen 2 is just some weird name to show that the car is the 2nd generation kind of look, Savvy is just... SAVVY!!! and Chancellor... well its for the boss. Poor peeps like me have no opportunity to sit in Chancellor. =(

So there's the first part. Talk about Peroduas tomorrow. If not its dead long to upload me blog. Sigh.
