Secret Recipe

A few days ago... precisely on Thursday, the bunch of us; Shawn, Siaw Yin, Chee Cheng and I decided to make our maiden trip to the famous Secret Recipe in Kuching. Although the outlet has been in Kuching for more than half a year, we have never sat on the plush red sofa and sniffed their freshly baked pastries. Although some of us might have took away the cheesecakes from there, sitting there and chow down food isnt something we unfortunate people get to enjoy. But then, all unfortunate happenings will get something good in return right? So there we were in Secret Recipe it its wee hours of its opening time.

The rest ordered the White Chocolate Macademia cake, as recommended by me... ^^ i dont know how do they find the cake, but i certainly love it a lot. I, for once, didnt eat their cakes coz i had enough of them, coz i still have a few slices in my fridge, so no point wasting money. =D Then, we ordered lunch... coz i hadnt had my breakfast and i was so fucking hungry my stomach was grumbling and fussing out juices. Ouch! So i ordered Irish Lamb Stew... or lamb shank la... and Shawn ordered Chicken Lasagna. The rest waited for the lunch set menu to start at 12. So while waiting, decided to camwhore but then all the pictures turned out crappy. SO oh wells... then the FOOD CAME!!! *hungryy*

My lamb shank... my remarks about it? Err... the lamb wasnt tender... the mash potatoes was a little weird... but the gravy wasnt bad... haha... took a very long time to wallop the whole thing up...

Shawn's Chicken Lasagna... didnt try it though... but looks mouth-watering indeed.

And Chee Cheng ordered a plate of Spaghetti Bolognese... but i couldnt take a picture of it coz he attacked it too fast... oh wells...

At the end of the meal... the bill came out to be nearly RM100... oh man... thats effing expensive for a lunch out. But thats like once in 6 months ok??? Haha... And then with the additional cheesecakes i took away for my significant someone, my own expenses totaled to RM41. Crazy arr... but all was worth it... he enjoyed it. Man, i love him... Ssshhh...

So then... with all the festive mood of Christmas and western food in the air, i decided to cook pasta after a long, long time of not cooking them since last year. Tried a new Carbonara recipe. Here's how it turned out to be:

Does it look good? Haha... consisted of bacons, mushrooms, milk and bla bla... the taste is generally up to individuals la... My bro said it was damn good so he finished half of the wok containing it. For me, it was nice enough... but i think it was a bit too flavorful. But then, i dont know why i got this stupid intuition to let Ben try my cooking. So i asked him whether he wanted some, he said up to me. So ok la, gave him some. But then... i could say i was very disappointed coz he doesnt like mushrooms... and i didnt know that... sighs... and i guessed this wasnt his kind of thing... he said i could still improve on it. Oh wells, it was my first try on cooking Carbonara with my own recipe... oh wells, practice makes perfect. And hun, sorry yea? Anyways, im gonna cook it again for Shawn to try. Hehe... i love cooking yah... =D

Practice makes perfect... i wonder how many girls out there would even cook for their significant other? Hardly eh in this new generation???

In Berberboo's mind: Im trying to cook something new... wish me luck... haha

i think when u seriously fall for someone, you can't help it but want to cook him a ten-course meal. it's probably encoded in the female dna lol.
