Oishi Japanese Restaurant, Rock Road

Oishi! Meaning yummy in Japanese... This cutesy restaurant is located at 2 1/2 mile, right beside the Chinese Embassy (I think that's what it is). A small lot facing the main road, I couldn't find it the first time I went looking for it, but found it in the end anyways.

Walking in, this restaurant is cozy and quiet, with minimal furniture and soft music. First thing that greeted me on the table was peanuts, used as supports for chopsticks! :D Kinda cute hehe. Though the ambiance wasn't like a Japanese restaurant. I felt like I was dining in some air-conditioned cafe =.= More decorations please!

Scrolling through the menu, first thing I noticed was the pricing. Everything seems to be cheap for a Japanese eatery. Can't really recall the prices, but they're cheap nuff said. So being just the two siblings, my bro and I ordered these fare:

Salmon Avocado Salad, 9.5/10
Best avocado and salmon salad I have had. Though portion is a wee bit small, the mixture of avocado-salmon-veggies-dressing ratio is just superb. Recommended!

Maguro Sashimi, 8/10
Fresh and well sliced. Only problem was the wasabi was too little LOL

Yakiniku Don, 6/10
Portion was huge, rice was aplenty. Beef was tender but the flavoring wasn't up to par. Tasted more like very good beef cooked with soy sauce.

Chicken Ramen, 4/10
For the love of food I can never take clear broth ramen. I may be prejudiced but nothing with this dish sits well with me. It tastes like colored soup from economic rice. :(

Chicken Udon, 7/10
This udon tastes way better than the ramen. The broth is not too salty and the noodles were cooked well.

Overall, I will definitely come back for their salad and sashimi. The price is a wonderland. I have yet to try their sushi so there will definitely be a part 2 of this.

Berbs personal rating:
Food - 6.9/10
Pricing - 9/10
Ambiance - 7/10
